BCIC brings exciting news to our community as we are revitalizing our WEB Site, working with our local schools and colleges to help career awareness and training, as well as our main goal of helping our businesses grow and expand in Bennington County.
Prospects for utilizing space at Maneely Park are looking positive. Activities in Pownal are percolating which could bring both Medical Expansion and Entertainment to the Southshire which will serve Bennington County, the Berkshires and the Capitol District.
Our immediate goal of meeting full compliance with the State of Vermont Economic Development Department’s contract is on schedule for yearend. The updated WEB Site is the primary goal to meet our contract’s needs. Our outside consultant has the preliminary layout completed. With review and additions of data and photos, we are scheduled to implement the updates in a few weeks. The BCIC Web Site is up and running, but the updates will make the needed improvements to meet today’s standards. I ask our members to submit photos of their workplace activities that could help show Bennington County’s strong manufacturing and business environment.
Our workforce development efforts are continuing. The Sophomore Career Summit for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) is scheduled for February 12th at Bennington College. I encourage our members to participate if you are able, as these career awareness programs help our high school students find paths that could put them on a path to high paying jobs and careers.
